A Journey of Staying in an Art Gallery of Kyushu

A Journey of Staying in an Art Gallery of Kyushu

Kyushu Art Gallery where you can stay
Experience a stay surrounded by Kyushu’s traditional & local crafts and art, savor a cup of tea in your preferred vessel, and indulge in dishes served in special tableware. We offer a stay where you can immerse yourself in the works of Kyushu’s artists while enjoying your time here.”

Story

Inspired by the enchanting essence of Kyushu’s natural beauty, culture, and world-renowned craftsmanship, we aspire to craft guest rooms that resonate like poetry, where you can touch and feel the artistry that springs from this remarkable land. It’s a vision that embodies ‘The Hotel as a showcase of the local region,’ a journey to create a hotel that becomes the very destination of your travels, and it’s a fusion of the timeless and the novel.

This is where the renowned magazine ‘Kateigaho,’ a tireless herald of Kyushu’s allure, joins hands with us for the first time to give life to the exclusive ‘Kateigaho Suite,’ a sanctuary born from this vision.

Theme ‘ Art Gallery where you can stay’.

We reached out to Ms. Kumiko Akishige, the guardian of ‘gallery cobaco’ in Asakura City, Fukuoka, a place where art connects people to the world of objects and to each other. Her soulful guidance has orchestrated the transformation of our guest rooms.

Amidst the unhurried cadence of time on Iki Island, one gently awakens to the hushed secrets of new seasons, often overlooked in the bustle of daily life.
Here, in the unhurried rhythm of Iki Island’s time, you will ‘discover’ the whispers of seasons often overlooked in our daily lives, the ever-evolving landscapes, and the profound beauty that springs from the hands of skilled artisans.

In our traditional Japanese Tatami room, we have carefully selected tea bowls gathered from various pottery regions across Kyushu, where the art of ceramics thrives. To accentuate the presence of these exquisite tea bowls, we’ve designed a space that embraces the beauty of natural wood. Take a moment to appreciate each tea bowl as you hold it in your hands, savoring its unique craftsmanship and character. Now, which one shall we use for your soothing cup of tea?”
